The 'Spirit of the Tour' trophy is a perpetual award, commemorating Peter Doig and the key role that he played in the development and running of the original "Le Tour de North East" in 2010, organised by Paul Edwards and the Alpine Chapter.

In late 2015 the Alpine Alfisti Association assumed responsibility for organising and hosting these popular and well attended annual tours and continues the tradition of the award established by the Alpine Chapter.

The 'Spirit of the Tour' trophy has been awarded annually since 2013 for the early Alpine Tours and since 2016 for the Alfisti Autumn Tours. The trophy is awarded to the crew that is deemed to have provided a significant contribution to the general enjoyment of the Tour.

The 'Alpine Alfisti Spring Tour' trophy is also a perpetual award, first awarded during the Alfisti Spring Tour in 2018.

The 'Alpine Alfisti Spring Tour' trophy has been awarded annualy since 2016, except for the CoViD years when it was not possible to run the event.
Similar to the Autumn Tour trophy, the Alfisti Spring Tour trophy is awarded to the crew that is deemed to have contributed most to the general enjoyment of the Tour.

Trophy custodian(s), for both awards, are selected by a panel comprising the Tour organisers and, if available, the current trophy custodian(s).
